Driving in southern NJ you’ll see some beautiful open spaces with active farms. This was painted trying a different technique on the grass.

/ July 25, 2012I am an artist and enjoy painting landscapes. I look forward to seeing more of your work. This painting reminds me of a place we’d pass on our way to our summer home.

/ November 11, 2014Love the grass. Would you be willing to share the different technique you used? I am a beginner when it comes to grass. Snow is so much easier. Leave most of it white and add pale shadows 😉

/ November 12, 2014Thank you! I love to share technique. Overall washes were painted first and allowed to completely dry. Then mix 3 stronger versions of the same colors you laid down in the initial wash. Start painting the grass strokes, looking for random patterns. What works for me is a layering of these colors to build texture. Hope that helps.
